how wild
sixteen more around this one

INFO

HITS: tap a hit: it plays and goes into the kit, in the slot of its kind, and a knob you turn on it goes there with it. the kit is the row at the top and is what the groove plays; the slot your hand is filling has a red foot. three keys make new things: NEW 16 on the deck is sixteen more of this kind and changes no slot, NEW KIT is every slot at once, NEW GROOVE on the deck of the other tab is another groove for the same kit. BACK brings the last sixteen back. tap a slot of the kit for sixteen round it.

HOW WILD: tame is drums that stand where real ones do, and the line under the name says which wall a hit stands against and where it leaves the real ones. wild is stacks nobody has built: such a hit says experimental, carries a red corner in its cell and the word in its file name, and is held only to safety. KEY holds a throw to a note where a hit has one. a hit that will not hold it says so.

drag a plate anywhere along it. hold a word to read its number. a layer card plays that layer alone and opens its own plates: the last three are where it stands between the ears.

GROOVES: PLAY turns four bars of the kit. red is the kick, white are the hits: taller is louder, off its edge is early or late. tap a step to add a hit, tap again to turn it down and off. on a phone the grid shows half a bar: swipe it, or tap a bar. KICK and HATS are what the groove is heard with: the hats take a few seconds the first time.

six lanes, each with its part: the tom drives, the rim is the line, the clap marks, the blip calls, the metal rings, the noise runs. a lane's name changes its hit and where the lane stands, DICE throws that lane alone, VARY moves it a little. a chip on THROW holds the dice to one thing and throws again: a style with a red edge counts against the bar or moves from bar to bar. the groove goes on playing and the new one comes in on the next bar.

keys: space plays, 1 and 2 are HITS and GROOVES, 3 to 5 open the panes, D throws, Z and X step back and forward, K keeps, L throws sixteen near this hit, E saves what the deck's WAV saves. every wave and WAV drags into your daw. the kick and the hats are in no file.
