◈ groove machine for one kick · sibling of kick·77 ◈

PAT·77

v2.1 · your kick on the beat, quiet copies of it between the beats, and the groove is where you put them

the picture is the loop: red is the kick, white is its ghosts. small cells: where the kick plays. tall pads: tap for a ghost, drag up or down for how loud, drag sideways to push it early or late.

presets

a preset is the whole machine: the pattern, what the ghost is made into, both levels and the drift. BACK returns to what you had.

drifting take, passes

one quiet copy of your kick, cut from the red part of the wave: drag either edge. the square is its tone under one finger.

WAV on the deck below is the whole loop, and with DRIFT on the whole take. drag it into your daw or tap to save it.

the kick lane is the file you loaded, written in at its own level with nothing done to it: no filter, no drive, no levelling and no ceiling, so at DRY 0 dB a hit in the loop nulls against your file. everything that is done here is done to the ghost, and the ghost goes out as a file of its own too.

a wav is read here by hand at its own rate, so 48 k stays 48 k. anything that is not a wav goes through the browser decoder, and the status line says so. the files are 32 bit float: tails that overlap may sum past 0 dB and the file holds that untouched.

keys: space plays, Z is back, X is forward, D throws the dice, 1 2 3 are the tabs. on a pad the arrows are its level and its nudge.
