NEO RUMBLE

The rumble is the kick itself: resampled, stretched, dropped in steps, its pitch never standing still, ducked under every hit. Tap the wave and it plays.

    NEO LOOPS

Breaks of this kick and this rumble: gaps, stops, tops only, hits off the grid, rolls. A tap makes 24, a tile plays one.

      HOW IT WORKS

The red line is the rumble's pitch over four bars: steps down, then a slow wander around each step. That line is the dance. The grey wave under it is what you hear.

GRID is how often the rumble starts over: every beat, half a bar, a bar or two bars. The kick still hits every beat. On a wide grid one rumble runs a whole bar down before it starts again.

TURN, under MORE, bends the kick and the rumble together so they sit as one: at the start a soft saturation, in the middle the wave folds, at the end its tips turn back. At zero the sum is left as it is.

A RESAMPLED kick is made the way the rumble is: the NEO kick dragged through a few resample rounds, six times over, the six copies glued into one hit with the clean front of the original on top.

A style throws a fresh set of knobs in its own manner. DICE keeps the style and throws a new number. A knob moves the sound while your finger is on it, and the exact render takes over when you let go.

KEEP puts the rumble in hand on a shelf in this browser, a tap on the shelf brings it back. The page opens on the last rumble you heard.

Keys: space plays and stops, D throws the dice, 1 to 4 pick a style. WAV is what you hear right now. ZIP holds the rumble, the kick, the kick loop, the sum and the recipe.
